We used 500ml of water, 50g of sugar and 150g of garbage food.

We are going to restart on the experiment as the container used was not airtight and therefore, the fungus grew in the solution. We also opened the container fully everyday to take a picture of the solution. This allowed air to move into the solution and for fungus to grow. We will restart the experiment using a container with an opening which can be tightly sealed. We will also only release the gases produced from the reactions once in 2 days to prevent fungus from growing in the solution.

Day 6: 10/4/14

Many white spots seen as compared to day 5. We think it might be yeast or fungus.

Observation: There are white spots seen floating on the surface of the solution
